For the past 30 years we have participated in this educational exercise that has provided nearly 800 Jefferson students with an insight into the reality of today’s world: the problem of poverty, the concept of sustainable development, the violation of human rights, international conflicts, economic crises, environmental problems, the actions of countries to face health problems, etc. But also what is happening in our country and in the region: the tragedy of political violence, the problem of land distribution, free trade agreements, among others.
Model UN is a rich experience for autonomous learning, which offers possibilities to strengthen skills such as the technical search for information, the preparation of proposals for solutions to problems, the confidence to defend a position and to address the public, the techniques of diplomacy and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
